Statement

My work centralizes around the exploration of humanity; its limits, habits, the meta-physical nature of gender and sexuality as well as the body and thereby humanity's understanding of itself. I am a strong advocate of cybernetic and psychological based art and film concerning the existence and philosophy of Cyborgs and their ilk, in particular the work of H.R Giger, Stelarc, Egon Schiele and Gillian Wearing.

My practice also holds deep resonance in the science-fiction genre and how this movement has opened the archway into alternative understandings of the philosophical and physical nature of our very beings.

My work often takes place through the simple medium of drawing as I feel it is the most articulate way to express it; often through the appropriation and adaptation of the body, which I believe is perpetually in an unfinished state of being and has only to upgrade to achieve completion. By this, I am greatly fascinated by the human psyche and patterns of behavior and as such the works of Carl Jung; his theories on the structure of the unconscious mind and its inadvertent subversive dominance over all actions are particularly influential to my practice.

Through introspection the adolescent state of our species can progress beyond the boundaries we have built around ourselves.
